Jen PThe book is popular -- you should be able to buy it at amazon, half.com, etc. Author is Marc Weissbluth. It’s great for understanding sleep patterns -- I’ve read it with all my children.
In short, he says cortisol levels are naturally at their lowest at midnight and cortisol is related to the sleep-wake cycle. He doesn’t explore what that might mean for CAH children -- though I sent an email to his editor, asking him to pass on the question to him. (I doubt I’ll ever get an answer, but it was worth a try!)
I’m going to ask Molly’s endo at our next visit, since she sleeps so badly when dosed in the later evening. (We switched to 3 am dosing, but I’d like to know if we could do 6 am--noon--6 pm since the natural cortisol levels hit a low at midnight anyway.)
