These people with CAH are not intersexed, nor transexual or any of the above. They are real people with a life threatening disease. Not lab rats. Not something to study and build your own mental theories on. Perhaps you should consider doing research on finding a cure for this disease instead. I just put through a long week with my sick daughter. Not once did I ask God this week as my daughter lay their burning up with a fever if he could send someone to research the connection between a person’s hormone exposure and to their interests. And does "interests" really mean sexual interests? Come on. There are some sicknesses that bring some of these children and adults to the brink of death. I know other’s have lost their children to complications of a virus or illness that happened to them. I get furious when I see valuable time wasted on the aspects of some project to pick someone’s brain instead of spending that time, and money on something that will improve their medications, or improve their life. You want research? Here’s some research for you. I have a beautiful daughter that had the misfortune of being passed a gene that lacked a chromosome. She is a confident little girl that is the apple of our eye. When she gets sick with a simple cold, it is a moment that can take your breath away. You strive to keep your child healthy. There are times if she vomits or gets a fever that puts her life in danger. I as her mother wished since the day she was born that I got the gene instead of her. That I would endure this disease instead of her. There is not a day that goes by that I don’t pray they find a cure, or improvement in the treatment of CAH. A cure so not another CAH child or adult has to feel sick or take a pill. A cure so no other mother has to spend sleepless nights worrying if they were treating their child with the right medication so they don’t go into an adrenal crisis and die. You want research, there’s your research.Laura
