pill vs liquid

hi cherry ! as for the behavior, i can not comment. my non cah 5 year old has been difficult at times, so i have no clue if this is cah related. i have never read anything aboutl cah and ADHD being connected.

as far as the liquid, my comments are not directly related to the behavior problems you are having. my son was on the liquid for the 1st 6 months. we got strange 17ohps (usually very low) and lack of growth with significant weight gain. this is all on a ridiculously LOW dose of the suspension. like 0.8mgs of hydrocortisone 3 x day. we would have suspected signs of UNDER supression not OVERsupression. anyway, we saught 2 very well know peds endos familiar with cah. both of them were emphatic that we stop the liquid. the instablility is not worth the risk. the liquid is still out there so the doses can be "fine tuned" more accurately, but if it is not stable, it is not fine tuning properly. long story short, we have switched to the pill and tripled-yes, tripled-his daily dose when compared to the liquid. his growth is now wonderful and there are NO signs of oversupression at all. not what you would expect if that 0.8mgs of hydrocortisone was accurate. we wil get his first labs back in the next week or so. i will NEVER go back to the liquid hydrocortisone again. now, having said that, some kids do just fine on it. it is subjective to who is compounding it for you. just my opinion! hope things calm down for you soon!!
