re: new mom child with swcah

My daughter has SWCAH and had her fair share of hospitals when she was little.  The first couple of years were the worst.  She was only about 8 weeks old when she had bronchiolitis (spelling?) and was admitted with breathing problems.  She has had 2 operations before the age of 2.  The rest of the hospital admissions were because she was vomitting and high temperatures and couldn’t keep her medication down.  However, as she got older, the hospital stays got less.  She must have built up a good immune system!  I found it difficult when she was vomitting when she was a baby because she wasn’t allowed milk (which would make the tummy worse), so what do you feed a newborn?!  She is now 7 and is hardly ill.  People are surprised that she has a medical condition because they think she just looks fine and they would never have thought it.  Of course she is fine most of the time.  It will get easier!  Mind you, that doesn’t stop me worrying about puberty!  That’s my next big step in a few years to come.....
