Thanks for responding. I guess it is indeed child and situation dependent.  I cannot help but think what a looong way I’ve come from that dreary winter night when we were given the news. The one important reason i call the ambulance is I can bypass the wait in the ER lounge !!! Fall is usually a busy season in the ER lounge and by the time I explain to the receptionist what CAH is and show her the ER letter and she passes it along, anything can happen, that’s the reason I call the ambulance. It’s covered by insurance and the situation is truly an emergency for our children so why not call them.  I’ve noticed that giving her the IV always helps. It just perks her up and breaks the dehydration-vomitting cycle. Plus they give her nausea meds through IV. I guess if she had acted lethargic I would have given her the shot.

thanks again for responding.

Cheers,
