I don’t know if your daughter could have late onset CAH which would be a reason to be tested. Some carriers are affected although the medical community is not acting on this yet. I read a study that said that a large percentage of kids with premature adrenarche are CAH carriers. My son is a carrier and his bone age advanced by 2 years in 6 months at one point. He’s taking a small dose of cortef and his bone age stopped advancing (for now) and he hasn’t gone into puberty early so I think it was the right thing to do. This all would be a reason to test, although you could also just be very alert to any symptoms of premature adrenarche like pubic hair, acne, adult body odor, which probably wouldn’t happen for years. The problem is when people who don’t know what to expect don’t seek treatment for their kids with say early body odor and their bone age ends up being very advanced.bonnie
