Carrie this is a question I have also asked myself! It is so easy to link common ailments with being a carrier but the stressful lives we lead could well lead to have us to having these symptoms that are so common - not only to carriers of the faulty gene but to the population in general. Having a child with CAH naturally causes anxiety, guilt and often depression but this may nothing to do with genes! I would find it hard to believe that there is one single person in this world who has not at some point in their lives, suffered some sort of depression or anxiety. This is only my personal feeling, if there was something more tangible, such as blood pressure problems etc, I may think differently! Then again, unlike some, as I have said before, I do not and will never see having a child with CAH as a "blessing" as some do. I hope my honesty is does not offend anyone.
