Jessica KThank you all!
Let me make sure I have this straight...my brain is a little fried from working last night 7p-7a & then not being able to sleep today due to prior commentments.
So, DNA testing is helpful if my husband & I were to have more children so they can know which mutations to be looking for. For my 2 yo daughter, it really is only necessary when she is thinking of having children herself(in 50 yrs!!!!!<grin>) to see if she is a carrier. As for my SWCAH daughter, it would tell us what type of mutation..but would not change her care. So, basicly our Endo had it right.
My 2 yo is very tall, but so is my husband at 6 foot 3 and I am 5 foot 7. If I were to see acne, body odor or hair I would have testing done. I was not worried about her having LOCAH, I was just wondering if I was going to have the DNA testing done, if they should look for that too.
I am so sorry Mary to hear that your son has such a hard time, I pray every night for a cure. I knew about the importance of the medication, and to be concerned with colds & such...but your son having chronic pain & possibly major spine surgery...Mary I had no idea! I only know CAH from the point of view that I have been given. I will continue to pray & support research for a cure.
