Holiday Gifts to help CARES; New Teen Yahoo Group
Nov. 24th, 2004   11:45pm
Dear Friends,
Holiday Tribute Cards for Family, Friends and Business Associates

Instead of buying Uncle Bill another ugly necktie or Grandma Sue another bottle of perfume that will sit on her bureau, or your business associates the typical bottle of wine or fruit basket, send them a gift that gives to the CAH community and raises awareness. CARES Foundation is offering a tribute that honors the recipient with a donation to CARES made in his/her honor. One of our parents, Louise Fleming, has designed and ordered beautiful cards that can be sent or given to those on your gift list, minimum donation $20 per tribute card. They state that a gift has been made to CARES in their honor and will be sent to you to give out. They can be seen and ordered on our web site at www.caresfoundation.org (link in center of home page) or by calling our office at 1-866-227-3737. Thanks Louise, for the great fundraising idea and for putting this all together. For our international members, you can still order via credit card. Just convert your currency into US dollars at http://www.oanda.com/convert/classic to determine the donation amount.

Every1CARES Bracelets

You have probably seen the brightly colored rubber bracelets that commemorate various charities, such as the Livestrong yellow bracelets and the pink breast cancer bracelets. CARES has designed our own deep turquoise bracelets that say, Every1CARES.. They are so cute and fun to wear, in a unique color and help spread awareness of CAH. They make great stocking stuffers or Hanukkah gifts. The kids also enjoy selling them to their friends. My daughter Alyssa, sold over 100 in one day at her school. They can be ordered on our web site www.caresfoundation.org (link in center of home page) at a cost of $3.00 each, minimum order is 5 bracelets. Those who pre-ordered, the orders shipped Tuesday the 22nd. Thanks to member Jami Abell Patterson for this wonderful fundraising idea and to her daughter Sarah Venit for coming up with the Every1CARES slogan.

Here is a message from Amanda to those interested in joining:
Hi, my name is Amanda Wells. I have Salt-wasting CAH. I am 13 years old.
My parents thought it would be a great idea to make a group for teens with CAH so they can talk about feelings, questions, and life experiences with CAH. They spoke with Kelly Leight from CARES and she agreed. I volunteered to set this up. I hope you are all as interested as me and I hope to speak with you in the group.

Thank you for all of your generosity in helping CARES to continue it work. Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Warmest Regards,
Kelly
