When my daughter was born in 2003 her labia was already fused together.  She has to have surgery when she is a teen to correct the problem also fix other things inside that went wrong.  She aready had one and every thing has gone fine for the first one.  That one was to fix the swollen clitoris and to make the rest look normal.  about try to avoid surgery in the future i really can not say, although i am sure everything will go fine for family.  I hope that best for you and your family
