Thank you all so much for your suggestions!  My doctor did a speculum exam but I don’t know what size he used.  I do have a copy of the report and it says he was unable to visualize the cervix secondary to my discomfort.  But I actually wasn’t in any pain and didn’t say it was hurting???

I probably wouldn’t be worried about this so much if my b/f wasn’t constantly telling me something is wrong with me :)  So I think a talk is in order with both him and my doctor, as embarrassing as it may be.  On the positive side, my b/f refuses to force it, despite my admitted requests for him to do so.
