Ash, there is no need to be ashamed about your weight and I promise you anything written will not go any further.  I have worked out your body surface area to be approx 1.8m2 and with pred at roughly five times the strength of hydrocortisone, the dosage you are currently on is fairly low (equivalent hydro dose: 13.8mg/m2/24 hours) - perhaps someone can check my calculations - Carol?   To be honest, there is therefore not a lot of room for reduction.  Did you notice an increase in weight when you changed from hydro to pred or was the increase more gradual?  Although I don’t believe you are on too high a dose of steroid now, it is difficult to shift the extra put on in childhood due to oversuppression.  The doctors comments were certainly very unhelful and unkind - they should have offered you more advice and support.  I am wondering if pred is the best choice for you?
