JanetDSonia,
I hate to tell you this, but private schools are under no obligation to give medications of any type. From what my daughter’s kindergarten teacher (public school in Missouri) has told me, that even if a teacher, principal, etc. is willing to give the medication, they are not covered under the good Samaritan laws and can then be sued. Private schools don’t want this type of a risk. I know Olivia must go to the nurses (RN) office everyday to receive her meds.
From what I have read concerning the regs for Missouri state licensed day care, they too are under no obligation to give medications of any type.
Hopefully someone on the board will be able to help you with how they have successfully dealt with this type of situation.
Warm regards,
Janet
