louisei recently contacted my ems dept. in my town. janetd, they told me that teachers ARE covered under the good samaritan act. maybe they are mistaken......if they were to administer my cah child’s injection, they would not have to worry about liability. however, i personally am not sure if it is such a huge deal if they refuse to give the shot (my son’s preschool DOES REFUSE it too). for my family, i am always a max. of 30 minutes away (usually just 15 minutes) , and ems can give a shot of solu medrol in an emergency until he got to the hospital. if my son vomited, got a high fever, broke a bone, etc. i would be immediately called. it is not like a peanut allergy where you only have potentially 5 minutes. i am not sure. if you really liked the school, i dont know if i would for that one reason.
