At the age of 13 months my Granddaughter had seizures. Not knowing she was CAH we called 911 and a ambulance transported her to the hospital in Cincinnati Ohio... they then tranferred her to Childrens Hospital where she was placed in Intensive care for two weeks on life support. We had NO idea what was wrong with her as she was not diagnosed with CAH yet. Finally when her blood draws and medical records showed she was CAH and given the proper meds she started to get better. But she had developed a case of compartment syndome in her right leg. She almost lost lost her leg...but with several surgeries it was saved. She spent almost a year in a cast and has some terrible scarring on both sides of her leg (after plastic surgery) SO PLEASE do not take this lightly as you CAN LOSE YOUR CHILD or she/he can become crippled due to circumstances from illness from CAH. I never forget to give meds as I ALWAYS HAVE TWO BIG SCARS LOOKING ME IN THE FACE TO REMIND ME! Sincerely Cherry Lane
