Yes...and I think most people are given this large amount of dex because doctors still prescribe it based on a 40:1, rather than 80:1, ratio. Using 40:1, 20 mg hydro will be equal to 0.5 mg dex (instead of 0.25 mg); 30 mg hydro equal to 0.75 mg dex (instead of 0.375 mg); and 40 mg hydro equal to 1.0 mg dex (instead of 0.5 mg)...in other words, you will end up with ~twice as much medication as you really need.

On twice what is really necessary, I do not doubt that the side effects were horrible. So, again, I think you and I actually agree.
