Question about cortef

I was just wondering if we are the only ones using a capsule that is compounded with the cortef pill. I want to stress that this is NOT the same as the cortef suspension. This is 100% totally different. We use a special pharmacy that in which the pharmacist actually crushes the cortef pill and measures the specific mg. He then compounds it into a clear capsule (a capsule similiar to tylenol, advil, etc). There is absolutely no suspension involved.

According to our Endo the reason why we go this extra step is for the best control possible. I had mentioned in another post that we are now increasing my son’s dose from 2.5 to 3mg. We have split the pills into quarters and had perfect results for years. However, he just simply outgrew the dose. So, we are inceasing his dose just by this small amount because to increase by even a quarter of a pill (1.75mg) in our Endo’s mind is just too much. I’m telling you she is really on a mission to achieve the best possible results. And, I am happy to report (knock wood) it is working!

When I was reading the posts below, it made me curious as to whether we are the only ones who are doing this?
