I would not stop giving the salt solution until your endo okays it.  My son was on salt solution until he was around 18 months old.  But he also had his bottle until then because he was very thin I was afraid to take his bottle away at on.  Anyway once your child is off the bottle I would just put the solution in a sippy cup.
