re: Salt intake

Sarah - my daughter Elizabeth will be turning 1 on the 28th.  I guess you could have called her a severe salt waster at birth.  My daughters sodium will be checked next week so hopefully I will see a good result.  We put sodium chloride in her bottles and always have.  She takes sippy cups during the day but she takes 1 bottle in the morning and 1 before bed.  We have been putting the sodium in her sippy cup for her afternoon meds and she’s been okay with it.  I have talked to a few endo’s while we were in the hopsital for her sugery and they all kind of said different things.  Some say you usually stop the salt when they are 1, some say almost 2 I agree with the other poster.   I guess it depends basically on the individual child on when you stop.  Does your endo periodically check the sodium level?  We did have to decrease her florineff about the time of her surgery because her BP was very high.  I also agree that when she starts eating table food primarily you might not need to do the extra salt.  Take Care and I hope your baby has a good B-day!
