re: planned pregnancy after cah baby

We have four kids, two with CAH. Ginny, our youngest will eventually need surgery. My wife took Dex during the pregnancy, but there was still some virilization. The doctor was surprised that there was as much as there was, but it happens. So far there’s been no problem that people seem to worry about. We insist on respect for her privacy, so we don’t let just anybody care for her, and there’s never been any situation where there would be any embarrassment. When she’s older and can participate in the decision, we’ll discuss surgery and she’ll be an active part of that decision process. Even with the virilization we feel everything is going pretty smoothly. We’ve wanted more children even since she was born, but God has seen fit to delay that. Anytime He’s ready to give us more, we’re willing.
