re: planned pregnancy after cah baby

Hi Laura

I took the dex. Started at 7 weeks when I found out I was pregnant. Had the CVS at 10 weeks. And was able to stop dex at 18 weeks once all testing was done and confirmed I was having a little girl. She is a carrier for CAH but does not have it. I am now 30 weeks pregnant.

My only suggestion would be since you are planning another pregnancy you could get the DNA testing done now for you and your husband. That way when they do test the baby they will know exactly what variation they are looking for. Our test results took a very long time because my husband carries the version which is not regularly tested for and they had to do more in depth lab work as well as get blood samples from my other daughter with CAH. I wish we had done all of that prior to getting pregnant it would have cut down on the length of time on dex and some anxious weeks.

Good luck

Dina
