Thanks for sharing that the CVS was wrong, Elizabeth. It’s important to know that happens. That must have been hard at first. Did you have a first child with CAH or did you know you were carriers?
My thoughts on the Dex treatment have gone back and forth after my daughter was born last July, at first I wished I had known and really wanted the virilization to have been prevented. It was ironic that I had a bottle of Dex all along that a Dr had given me for my 1st aid kit for alpine conditions. After I knew more about the lifelong disorder I thought the virilization and surgery were a small part in contrast and I’d rather have them (as if I could choose) than the lifelong risks and meds and growth issues. But then after going to the conference I got the message from the women that it can be a really big deal for them, a big source of trauma and pain, some take it better than others, but if you can prevent whatever pain it might cause them, then it is worth it. Good luck Laura!
