Crystal,

My husband’s endo was fairly certain that the infertility was due to being undersuppressed, but sent him for other tests too just to make sure.  He had an ultrasound to check for adrenal rests and a CT scan to check his adrenal glands.  I think he also ordered some blood work to check his pituitary, to make sure nothing else was out of whack.  Everything came back normal (except for enlarged adrenal glands from being undersuppressed), so then his endo thought that once his levels were back to normal that his fertility would return, which is what happened.

It sounds like the first endo that you saw wasn’t very familiar with CAH.  It helps so much to have an endo that really understands it and has treated other patients with it.  My husband’s endo explained everything to us so that we understood how CAH could affect his fertility and answered all of the questions that we had.  Hopefully the new endo you are seeing in April will be more helpful!  My husband’s endo was always positive with us about our chances of conceiving -- he would always remind us that it only takes 1 healthy swimmer to conceive, so there was always a possibility!  ;)  (His endo is a character, probably the most friendly doctor I have ever met!)

I hope that the new medications and endo will help your husband, and that you will soon be as surprised and happy as we were when we found out we were pregnant!  :)
