I am posting this reply here because the thread has moved onto the second page (oblivion ;-) )  I would do the dex again (I just wouldn’t use the same hospitals!) - I had some bad side effects - excessive weight gain (it dropped off after i stopped the dex),a LOT of facial hair, some blood sugar issues etc. . . but our first daughter had 7 consectutive UTI’s within the first 4 months of her life - and we spent a good deal of that time in the hospital - if there was any possibilty that I could prevent another child from possibly having to go through that I would.  There are others though that had no side effects and some that had ones so severe that they would not do the dex again. . . good luck on whatever you decide!
