Hi Momof4,

Both of my boy’s have had several seizures when they were younger (4-5).  All of these have happened when they were in the care of their biological father, as he held the medical insurance for them during this time and would not take the boys to see the endo for long periods of time but would tell us that they were going.  After each seizure my boys were put in the hospital for several days.  Our endo explained to us that these were caused by sugar levels dropping rapidly due to an onset of an illness.  Their electrolytes were off balances as well.  My wife and I can also tell when our boys are getting sick, as they don’t want to eat or drink.  We always make sure that they have some type of sugar in their system i.e. 7up.  Our endo has also giving a glucose tablets.  Now remind you this has never happened in the care of my wife and me.  We felt that their father was in denial and did not watch them closely as we do.  I now hold the medical insurance on the boys and make sure they go and see the endo every three months.  They have not had any seizures since I have taken over.  They have actually been healthier besides the normally colds.
