SherryI took dex with my second pregnancy, and although it made me feel VERY full no matter what I ate, I didn’t really have any ill effects from it. I have to tell you that all of the testing really is important, in my eyes anyways. Our daughter was severely virulized at birth (the drs only indication that something was wrong) so we are very glad that we knew what to do with our second baby. I had a CVS at about 10 weeks and about 3-4 days later we were told that the baby was male, so I was able to go off the dex. I had bad headaches for roughly 2 weeks and that was about it for side effects. About 3-4 weeks later we were told that our son was neither a carrier nor did he have CAH.
Really it is all up to you and your family whether you want to take the steps. I reccommend meeting with a Genetic Counselor as well. Ours was great and offered a lot of information that I had either forgotten or needed a refresher on. Good luck and congratulations on your pregnancy! :)
Sincerely,
Sherry
