RE: Going to sleepover, Birthday parties etc

It’s so funny that you should post this.  My daughter (age 9 SWCAH) just went to her first slumber party this past weekend.  I agonized all last week with whether or not to let her go.  We have been friends with the family for 4 years and they know of Ashley’s illness but I was still concerned.   The family only lives 3 blocks from my house.  So I decided to let her go.  The party was from noon to 3PM.  My son was also invited and I stayed during the birthday party.

When the party was over my son and I left.  We returned at 7PM that night and gave Ashley her meds. I am not comfortable with someone that is not family giving Ashley her meds.  And I don’t think that they should be responsible for giving them to her.  Since I live so close to them it was no trouble to go over there and give them to her.  The family had my numbers in case they needed to get in touch with me.

We had church the next morning and I needed to be there early because I was working in the nursery.  So I picked Ashley up at 7AM and gave her the morning meds and we went to church.

It worked out great and Ashley had a great time and I survived.
