How old is your son? I feel your pain truly. When my daughter was itching in her sleep, it was complete hell. I felt so bad for her. We too put aside the "dangers" of the steriod use and applied them. Sometimes you have to do that. In my daughter’s case the stress of not sleeping and itching was hindering her health. We weighed our decisions and said, lets use ANYTHING that would stop this itching! She got to the point of bleeding. It was horrible. I literally cried in the last office that told us they had no idea why she was itching. We saw several specialist. Finally it just subsided. I found AVENO oatmeal bath packets helped relieve the itch a bit. That should be safe for any age but check the package. AND if your son is an infant or toddler be sure to hang tight to him in the bath because it makes them slippery as could be. I suggest putting a towel on the bottom of the tub if you use this soak so he doesn’t slip. That poor little boy. I feel so bad for him. How is his spirits? My daughter was so tapped out from the itching and feeling miserable. We would soak her hands and feet while she watched Cinderella II. Still to this day when she watches the movie I think of the horror she endured. I will say a prayer for the little guy.
