Wow, I’m coming home with so much good advice. I will certainly try them. Thanks everyone for your concerns.
Actually, allergies run in our family and all my children have an area on their body reserved for itching, but at the age between one and three years I can barely locate an empty spot were to hug them. Laura, I would never leave my son alone in the bathtub, not only because it’s dangerous, but also because he would make the water red if I wasn’t there to keep him from scratching.
Julia, what type of specialist did you go to for allergy testing? My son has seen and was tested by various different specialists, both naturalists and MD’s and they are all contradicting each other about their findings. At least with one thing they all agree, is that he has very many food and environmental allergies. Eliminating everything he can’t tolerate is practically impossible. I haven’t found even one source of starch and calcium that he can take. I am interested in a specialist that would clear the allergies altogether. Some claim they can do it but so far no one was successful. From experience with my older children there is hope that he will eventually outgrow the worst part of it, but for now, I am trying to make this phase easier to pass.
I guess I’ll call the endo to check if it is OK with them that my son is on steroids now. I had an extremely hard time managing his CAH until recently, and now that he’s finally doing well, I want to keep him this way. (Oh, and BTW, a naturalist whom I called today to schedule an appointment with, detected over the phone that my son has an adrenal issue.)
Thanks
