Wow, what responses

Wow. This caught me offguard. I’m a professional writer and didn’t see anything that would cause a red flag by the original post here. Honestly, as a reporter, it is often hard to find people with specific health conditions without visiting a site like this. Doctors won’t give out information and most people don’t parade around with CAH tattooed on their foreheads. However, I would have gone to a site like the Magic Foundation and asked for recommendations for families who’d like to talk.

However, I have a CAH  boy, so maybe I’m blessed in that way that I don’t have to worry about the implications sexually of the disease in regard to the genitalia issues. There, but for the grace of God go I. So, I can see why this might raise your dander.

Again, I have written at least three or four stories about CAH and newborn screening for several publications from local newspapers to business journals and the Cahoot from the Texas Department of Health’s newborn screening publication. Please, be cautious and make sure you’re talking to a reputable reporter, but don’t automatically assume that everyone is out for the worse. Some are, but some aren’t.
