New thread on SSI

SSI is hard no matter who or what condition the person has.  My brother is Scizohphreneac (sp?) and it took him 4 years to get diagnosied and then it took my brother inlaw (lawyer) 2 years to get him on SSI.  Now my sister who is manic depression got SSI just like that.  Now tell me where there is justice in this.  It doesn’t matter if they are children or adults, (my nephew 3 years old on ridlin, got SSI too, really easily) the system just plain (?)s as anyone knows that has had to deal with social services of any kind.  I personaly don’t believe my sister should of goten SSI, and for my brother there should have been no question about it.

My daughter does get the extra help to go to the Endo 4 hours away and they pay for his meds and hotels and etc..  Yes they are considered low income because her husband does not make much.  The jobs are very few and do not pay more than min. wage. NM small town,.

She went and put in for SSI for my grandson and they told her that she will probably have to apply several times before he will get SSI.  I don’t look at my grandson as disabled either.  But, he is.  My daughter refuses to let anyone watch her boy. (daycare, babysitters),  And I cannot afford to stay home and watch him myself.       I believe she should get all the help she deserves.  And beable to stay home with her son.  I help as much as I can ( I pay there house payment for them every other month).  So yes everyone who has a child that is disabled (who can not live without meds) should get SSI for that child.  Why should there be any doubt at all.   And why does anyone question this at all.
