I just talked to my sister last night, and like you where saying SSI has changed considerably.  She told me that her SS knew the system and got her and son on together at the same time,  just after that, everything changed on getting SSI.  So my apologies to everyone on this sight.  And yes, after talking with my brother inlaw (lawyer) he said that almost everyone needs a lawyer now days to get SSI.  It doesn’t matter what you have or not have.
