My son is a non-saltwaster CAH and was diagnosed through the newborn screening program and we went to the doctors at the Texas Tech Health Science Center and we were very pleased. Our first visit was heartbreaking for many reasons, but Dr. Bourgeouis wasn’t very empathetic to us that first time, but he got better. Dr. Varma was awesome. I think Dr. Bourgeouis is now in Amarillo at a Texas Tech clinic there and Dr. Varma is still in Lubbock. They were great. When our pediatrician in Midland wasn’t responsive to my very ill 4-month-old CAH baby, the doctors at Texas Tech were and had a hospital room ready for me - they trusted my judgment with my baby.

I highly recommend them, too.

We have since moved and use Cook Children’s in Fort Worth. They’re great. Hard to get in to, but great. Scott and White in Temple also had good doctors when we were there. Dr. Ponder was awesome. He is now in Corpus Christi, I think.
