I have actually asked our Endo about the possibilty that the stress from bloodwork could cause levels to rise. Reason being that the ELMA cream just doesn’t work for my older son. I think it would if he would give it a chance, but once he sees that needle...it’s just horrible...he completely freaks out.

She did state that she takes this kind of reaction into consideration when interpeting his results. When we discuss the results I will tell her if it was a really wicked blood draw. If his results are a little higher than she anticipated she will then chalk it up to a tough blood draw and does not increase his dosage. If his results are really out there we will then increase slightly and then re-test within a month to see if it was just the blood draw or an actual need to increase. W

It’s a good point to make. I do hope that other Endos keep this in mind when interpeting the results!
