My grandson who is 8yrs old swcah has also done this since birth! When he was young he cried and begged. I also cried! As time went on he got so used to it that he will say ok time for the blood drawl. But.... we did get the numbing cream at the hospital also. One of the nurses told us about it one day. They actually have it there & apply it 1/2 hr before the shot and it does work. So ask your endo at the hospital & get it set up. At least that is how mine does it. We never had to buy it.He is such a champ now he needs nothing.  They are all amazed. I still want to cry. Thanks for sharing this with everyone. I had forgotten all about it.
