re: CAH infants and vaccines

Like you and some others who posted my baby reacted badly to her first vaccine which was just the HIB. Now I give her extra Cortef right before the shots, and I get the first of each vac separately so I know which ones she reacts to. She’s just had HIB and DPT and the DPT is fine; its usu the other way around. I wont get the ones for diseases that are very very unlikely to affect her as an infant, like tetanus, until a little later. I dont think the reaction necessarily is so much worse for her because of her CAH, of course there’s the possibility she could go into a little over-production of androgens wiht the stress, but thats not really an issue with the extra cortef while we watch for a reaction. I’m just taking them slow and watching each vaccine separately.
