Water at desk- continued

Someone posted this link and I went to it and found this to be the most interesting article.  I have had numerous conferences with my 8 year olds teacher lately because she has been completely distracted, unfocused, talkative, not turning in papers, etc...  On Friday we discovered that her urine specific gravity is not where it should be and she is showing physiological signs of being dehydrated even though we physically cannot tell.  She is not ill.  I have been noticing though that recently she has not been drinking much of her water at school.  It makes me wonder if this may be part of the problem she is having at school.  She has also been the same way with us at home, although I encourage her to drink more here.    Now, we have had many things happening that have been stressful to all of us here (family member getting divorced, Daddy getting hurt at work, my constant kidney stones, the girls both being critically ill in Dec., 2 of our friends being killed in the line of duty as police officers).  It just seems to all add up for me.

I kind of rambled on there but was wondering if anyone else has experienced this or has anything to add.  I’m feeling a bit desperate with her.  She is a super kid!  Very smart!  But lately she seems to be somewhere else and I need to put her back on track.

Thanks so much!
