re: Medical ID Bracelet

Our boys (SWCAH) both have them.  Our oldest is 2 1/2 and has been wearing his since he was 1 yr. old, and our youngest has had his since he was 5 months old.  We got them through Medic Alert -I like their service as far as contacting family, having medical records (doctor’s info, medications...) on file.  However, I know that there is a mom on here who sells them & part of her proceeds go to CARES foundation -I think her "business" is called Cody Cares -I’m sure she’ll post.  After consulting with our endocrinologist, the boys’ bracelets say "Adrenal Insufficiency.  Needs hydrocortisone in emergency."  We were warned about not putting congenital adrenal hyperplasia on there due to it being so rare -and that the EMTs would understand adrenal insufficiency.  Medic Alert has you measure their wrist -the smallest bracelet was too small when we first got them, so we simply took them to the jeweler to take out links.  We just put our 2yr. old’s links back on a few months ago.  Best wishes!  I know some people don’t feel the need for them, and my husband or I are always with our boys, but in the case of an accident where we adults may be unconscious, I would want my boys to be helped if possible. -at least I’d have tried.
