Janet --- Although Danny has a very valid point, please know that you are not alone and that there are indeed children whom definitely have ADD and ADHD. These are "proven" disorders, not just medical excuses for bad behavior all the time.  Although I too wonder how many children are "misdiagnosed"and are medicated unneccesarily, I also know that many children (and adults!) truly do suffer from ADHD and respond extremely well to medicine and/or therapy. Neither of my children have this disorder nor have I ever felt able to attribute any of my SW-CAH sons bad behavior to CAH, as Danny speaks of on occasion. However, I do have a 12 year old nephew who is diagnosed with ADHD (and it runs rampant in his fathers side of the family). He is a changed (for the better!) child due to medication. Do not let any of us sway your gut instinct. I am a firm believer in "Mother knows best" - rely on yours - it will never steer you wrong. Good Luck!
