louisehey jill! you will get a MILLION different opinions for this question. there WAS a commerically available liquid hydrocortisone a few years ago. it was manufactured by upjohn pharmaceuticals. it was taken off the market b/c it was unstable and cah children were having erratic labs and frequent adrenal crisises. the liquid you are using that is made in a compounding pharmacy is different, but the same. what i mean is that it is made using the same prinicple as the upjohn suspension years ago. we have used the liquid from a compounding pharmacy , and my son did ok. we have saught 2 opinions: one from a doc in vanderbilt and one from the natl inst. of health. they both persuaded me to not use the liquid at all. however, there are a lot of people out there who do and their kids do just fine. there is no right answer. just be sure, if you do decide to use it, that it is a reliable compounding pharmacy. hope this helps!
