We have one CAH out of five children
Feb. 16th, 2005   10:12am

But our oldest dd was adopted by my husband so she actually wouldn’t count because her bio father most likley isn’t a carrier.

We had our second child(a daughter)  and she does not have CAH ,then we had our third child (a son) and he is our CAH child. Right after he turned 1 I found out we were pregnant again and I worried the entire time. I too thought I’d not be able to handle another child being sick and more trips to the hospital (though I find that the first year there was much more sickness and every year after that got a touch easeir as far as CAH was concerned). The fourth baby was born and we had him tested and he does not have CAH  then low and behold along comes baby #5 a few years later and I was done worrying about CAH (o.k. I did worry and I prayed a lot )but I have made friends with Tanya from this board and both her girls have CAH and she deals with it quite well and I guess I thought if she can do it I can too. (Thanks for the unknowing support Tanya :)  )

I won’t lie and say I was not thrilled to learn that this baby didn’t have CAH. It’s one less thing to worry about and to stress over but if any of them had God would have given me the strength to deal with it.

It does get easeir and I hate the thought of you missing out on another child for fear of having another baby with CAH. Just go where your heart leads you, thats my best advice.
