I think that the frustration she exhibits is a side effect of the steroids we give our kids.  I think they do have more highs and lows than the average kid because of being on steroids.  It is taking the lesser of two evils.  Keep them healthy, but deal with these side effects.  You might want to read up on her medication just so you are aware that she may be doing this stuff because of the medications she is on.
