My daughter used the dolls as objects too. Especially the Barbies I bought her thinking she might be interested. She took her trucks and drug them behind. She hung them from the balcony of our staircase and would never dress them in pretty clothing or ask to take them along on a road trip. She was interested in the mechanics/the inside of the barbie and figured she could see inside by taking off the heads. After she hat cut off all the hair of course. Hmmmm........Natalie AWe found she was more interested in Max Steel (the Ken of her time) and all of his snowing, skiing, and military equipment. These guys were people, who had real missions and jobs to do when she was playing. They served a purpose as truck drivers, bath toys etc.
She doesnt play with dolls anymore of any sort but does like sports, outdoor activities such as camping, hiking and biking on trails.
She thinks alot like my husband. The things he thinks are fun she agrees with, the things I think are fun like shopping, crafts or taking in an afternoon movie she thinks is boring.
I most definitely believe and I say this after 13 years of marriage that there are alot of differences in men and women and know that if we look hard enough we can find atleast a few similarities.
I hope my SWCAH daughter grows up with the benefit of using ALL of her brain. Whichever side leads will be ok. I figure if she is able to communicate with a male because she can better understand his straight and narrow, in a box, one thing at a time, thinking she is ahead of the game. If she can communicate well using the female side of her brain too then even better. Its a win win situation!
