We have also played around w/this idea & even asked our endo about it because 2x our 2 1/2 year old has had what we consider a "crisis" early in the morning after not eating enough the day before -it happened twice in the same month -and now we know to watch out for it.  Our endo also said he would give us a script for one, or we could just pick up one, but he wasn’t totally convinced that it was an adrenal crisis -I think it was somewhat of a hypoglycemic episode -whether it led to a crisis or vice versa, I’m not sure.  We tripled his meds orally & he came out of it. He also ended up getting a cold each time right after this happened.    We talked w/our endo & he recommended that if we thought he hadn’t eaten enough, we would give extra cortef w/the night dosage.  Since these incidents happened, we have monitored his food very closely & haven’t had this experience again.  The glucometer is still something we keep in the back of our mind.
