I just posted about that stuff below. That was what I was talking about. We called it liquid gold because it was so hard to get. Then we discovered Upjohn wasn’t making it correctly and ruining all sorts of CAH patients lives. And claming some. I remember I called Upjohn and they said that it used to be made out of this "gummy" stuff from a rare plant from the Middle East. I am not sure if they could no longer get it or it became too expensive to get that plant imported. Whatever the case their new substitute to make the suspension was not working. The mixture wasn’t mixing properly. I just remember being told to shake shake shake shake it to death. If anyone is using any suspension, that is the best advice to take, shake it baby shake it!!!!!!!! That goes for ANY suspension you get for meds. I remember making my own suspension out of orange drink concentrate from those big jugs that makes like 90 cups of punch. I would crush my the Cortef pills, then mix it into the mixture, suck it up the syringe using a spatula to make sure I got every ounce of it. It held the consistancy pretty much like the suspension that was already prepared. (that was just a note for those that are wondering what to do with a pill that your child won’t chew) I tried the juice and the crushed pill, but it left the bits of pill on her tongue and she gagged. This orange concentrate was just like suspension consistency. It so it glided right down her throat. It was magic. Today she just chews the awful thing. She says she loves it. Ewwww!Laura
