I’m back & Olivia had the flu
Feb. 17th, 2005   12:00pm

Hi all,

I’m back to work after taking time off to go to China to adopt my new son and then spend some time at home with him. He is now 28-months old and is a little cuddle bunny. He was born with a complete, bilateral cleft lip and palate. His lip has been repaired. Right now he is hearing next to nothing and there is a large amount of fluid behind the eardrums -- so tomorrow (Friday) he is getting tubes. I am looking having his palate surgery done in the April time frame. As a side note, I wonder if Luke would be a part of my family if Olivia hadn’t had CAH?!

Olivia, my 6-year-old CAHer, woke 2:30 Monday morning with a 104 temp.  Since she is normally very healthy I got her into the ped ASAP. She has/had the flu. A combination of having the flu shot and catching it early and getting her on anti-viral meds has made a fairly quick recovery. Right now she is cranky and wears out real quick. But we are back to her normal doses of Cortef.

I’ll try to spend a little time reading the archives to see what has been happening in the last 7 weeks.

Warm regards,

Janet

mom to Olivia (6), Ruthie (4) & Luke (2) -- all from Jiangsu, China!
