I’m not really sure that this is CAH related, but I’m a bit concerned so I thought I would ask about this anyway. My oldest child is a girl, just turned 8 in December. Her youngest brother has SWCAH. My daughter and I have noticed for the last month or so that she is having some underarm odor. She also possibly is in the beginning stages of growing breasts, which I at first thought was from the pretty large amount of weight she has gained in the last 6-12 months. When she was a baby/toddler, she was very small for her age, so much so that several pediatricians seemed a little concerned. Now she is really taking off growth wise. She is a bit shorter than most of her classmates.
Anyway, my question was about whether her underarm odor, and other possible signs of early puberty, could be CAH related, or is 8 a "normal" age for this to start? She has never been tested for CAH, and no Doctor has suggested this. I am wondering if carriers can have symptoms of CAH because I have many of the characteristics myself.
Any advice/suggestions would be great. Thanks
