Congratulations on your new baby girl and Welcome to the board! You will find support /education/ information on EVERYTHING. I have a 4 year old Granddaughter that was diagnosed at 13 months. She is a happy, healthy sweet little girl that no one would believe has the disorder of CAH. Once you get the meds controlled you will feel better and it does get easier and you relax more after you know you have everything under control. You do however have to be prepared for emergencys and sickness...as you need extra meds. My graddaughter has never had any issues with weight as of yet. We will cross that bridge if and when we get too it! The surgery for her we chose to do it at 13 months .  some on the board feel strongly about waiting and some feel it is right to do it early. Honestly ....I feel it is a personal choice for the parent /person. There is a lot of debate on the controversial board about it. I believe there are pros and cons both ways. I just made the choice based on the medical issues we had at that time and what I felt would be comfortable for her and ourselves on this issue. Cares and Kelly Leight can help you with Dr. choices and questions. It is a great organization. This board is a God send to all of us and I use it as often as I can.......the people here are helpful caring and sympathetic to your needs. No question is too stupid or silly to ask and you will get honest answers and opinions on  cah cases. So, Welcome aboard and enjoy your new baby they grow way too fast.

Sincerely,

Cherry  Lane
