CarolynHello everyone
I’ve written a few times on this site before and the feed back was extremely helpful. I have a 2 1/2y old son Isaiah who has CAH. For about the past 4mos he has been in and out of the hospital for gastroenteritis which is vomiting and diarrhea and sometimes fever. Now i went on-line and looked up the meaning of gastroenteritis and symptoms and causes. One of the causes is use of steroids or change in dosage of steroids, that caught my eye since obviously he needs to take steroids. I also wonder if he is lactose tolerant because sometimes he starts the vomiting after he drinks milk. I just don’t know, I’m going to speak to he regular ped and also his endo and see what they think. I’m going to change his milk to soy they say that is good. He is also dehydrated so when admitted they gave him iv fluids and while he was in the hospital he was fine of course he gets home and he’s not really drinking he doesn’t like the pedialyte and he doesn’t like the Gatorade so tell me what to do. Now i have come up with the idea to give him the pedialyte by using a 5ml syringe as many times as i can. I really would appreciate some feedback anything I don’t know what to do and I really feel lost and scared. Although his endo is great he goes to mt sinai hospital in ny in the back of my mind i feel no one is really helping us to come up with a solution. PLEASE GIVE ME YOUR FEED BACK ALL IS WELCOME.
