Kim WeeksI am 24 weeks pregnant and yesterday the baby was diagnosed with CAH and since it is female they believe it will be SWCAH, but are not exactly sure until the baby is born. I have been reading what I can about this illness but it is all so confusing; everyone has something different to say about it. I have a 4 year daughter with a extremely rare x-link chromosome defect named Aicardi Syndrome and a 11 1/2 month old daughter who is perfectly healthy. An Amnio was performed since my daughter is so ill and everything came back normal and it came back as a female. 2 weeks later during an ultrasound there seemed to be a penis and it confused all the doctors, so a second amnio was performed to make certain no mistakes were made during the first one. I have had several ultrasounds performed and it seems the baby’s genitals are become more and more prominent as a male and not ambiguous genitals. I am scared and confused and was wondering if anyone else has had the same experience? I am already in the routine of medications with my daughter and the severity of even simple colds so that does not frighten me, it is basically the unknown and especially that the baby has a penis and scrotum sac and XX chromosomes. Any advise would certainly be welcome. Thank You
